​Research Opportunities for Undergraduates

Opportunities for graduate studies and research in chemical engineering are available in a number of areas, including aerosol science and technology, catalysis, chemical reaction engineering, transport of pollutants, environmentally benign catalytic processing, complex fluids, materials synthesis and composites. Students interested in research are encouraged to discuss opportunities for active involvement with an academic adviser.

Internship Search Tips:

• Utilize on campus resources such as The Career Center located in the DUC.
• Search early for summer employment. Many students start as early as November of the previous year.
• Consider a Co-Op if you can dedicate more than the summer months to a company.
• Contact faculty or academic advisors to learn more about opportunities for on campus research projects.
• Consider a collaborative internship with Johns Hopkins University or our department's International Experience.
• Engage in an Industry Plant Tour. The department offers two plant tours each fall.
