The approach consists of developing cutting-edge instruments and deploying of these instruments in field observations focusing on regions where aerosols have major impacts on climate system and air quality.</p><h3>Biography</h3><p>Before he joined the faculty at Washington University in St. Louis, Professor Wang was a tenured research scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He is currently the Director of the Center for Aerosol Science & Engineering. Professor Wang served as a member of the steering committee of Department of Energy's Atmospheric System Research (ASR) Program and co-chair of the ASR Aerosol Lifecycle Working Group from 2009 to 2016. At Brookhaven National Laboratory, Professor Wang was a Goldhaber Distinguished Fellow from 2002 to 2005. He led several field campaigns, focusing recently on aerosols and clouds in the Amazon Basin and the Eastern North Atlantic. Professor Wang received the Kenneth T. Whitby award from American Association for Aerosol Research in 2013. </p><p>Professor Wang earned his master's and doctoral degrees, both in chemical engineering, in 1998 and 2003, respectively, from California Institute of Technology.
