Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering (EECE) at WashU​

In 2006, Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) became the first university in the world to create a Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering (EECE) by bringing together faculty involved in the interdisciplinary environment engineering science graduate program and the Department of Chemical Engineering.

Our department is part of the WashU School of Engineering & Applied Science. We contribute to solutions for the energy and environmental challenges around the world and focus on research and education in environmental engineering science, energy systems and chemical engineering.
