Professor
Biography
Professor Darby has been a member of the engineering faculty since 1976, and is currently a member of the new Department of Energy, Environmental, and Chemical Engineering. He has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in environmental engineering and in technology policy analysis.
A registered Professional Engineer in Missouri, Professor Darby has served as a member of Missouri Safe Drinking Water Commission from 1992-2005. He is currently on the Editorial Board of the ASCE Journal of Energy Engineering.
Professor Darby is the author of numerous publications and is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society for Engineering Education, the Association of Environmental Engineering Professors, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
Research
Professor Darby’s research has been in the areas of environmental risk analysis, and the use of quantitative methods, technology management techniques, decision analysis, and economic analysis for developing and responding to environmental regulations and risk management.
