On October 24, 2009, the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering hosted its 14th Annual Mid-America Environmental Engineering Conference.
The conference was attended by more than 50 students and professors from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri University of Science & Technology, Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, Southern Illinois University - Carbondale and the University of Missouri. The keynote lecture "Nanotechnology and the Environment" was delivered by Dr. Rao Surampalli of the U.S. Environmental Proctection Agency.
